Both groups stay and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits after, but most of all make new friends and there is plenty of talking and laughing.
A coffee morning is held the last Thursday of each month from 10-11.30 am at Leigh View Surgery in the ballroom upstairs. For the next three months there will be a speaker at the coffee mornings
- February – Air Ambulance
- March – Flower arranging
- April will be a social gathering with button bingo
An outdoor activity is a walking group. Meeting at the East Ardsley Reservoir, Haigh Moor Road at 10am every Monday. The organiser and lead walker is Tricia and the group is lively, friendly group out in the fresh air. Some adventurous walkers go twice round, others at a leisurely pace round the lake once. Please come and join the happy friendly group, everyone is welcome. Bring your dog/dogs with you, it’s a fun walk.
If you prefer to stay indoors and like knitting, we have lots of knitters doing an amazing job knitting items for the new neonatal baby units at Pinderfields and Leeds LGI. All items knitted are very welcome by anyone who enjoys knitting, and can be given to any committee member or handed to the reception staff at the surgery which Jennie will take to each of the hospitals. Patterns are available at the doctors surgery.
We had a Christmas party in December, seventy five people attended. Silly games and activities followed by a buffet lunch and a raffle. Lots of fun and laughter enjoyed by all who attended.
The flu clinic were once again supported by the usual group of volunteer ladies “ the flu crew”, all committee members. It was well organised and ran very smoothly, working well with the reception staff and nurses.
The book stall continues to be a very popular, many thanks to Chris for his weekly visit, sorting, collecting and organising the books in the practice entrance foyer. Please continue to donate books which can be left at reception, and thank you for your support in continuing to buy these books.
Leigh View Medical Practice have chosen to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance this year, and the Patient Support Group will be holding several raffles through the year as well as knitting Easter chicks (which will be on sale at reception) to help raise monies to help and support Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Badges, key rings, wrist bands and pens are on sale at the surgery.
